How
To Search:
Some visitors have
the time and patience to randomly look through 200 items, but most will want to use our
helpful search options. The Home page offers 4 ways to explore the collection. If you try
one and don’t like where it takes you, simply return Home and take a different
search path. Here are the 4 paths.
- Browse all items.
Presented in simple numeric order, and not sorted by function, style or any other
criteria. If you are just window shopping, with no preconceived notion of what
you’re looking for, start here.
- Search by type of
item. Narrow your choice at the start by selecting from the menu of types of jewelry
objects (e.g., ring for single stone, or earrings). Within each type, you will have the
option of refining your search by style, price, gemstone data, and so on.
- Search by
style/era. If you're already hooked on an era like Art Deco -- or know your
preferred stylistic elements like an airy openwork piece -- you can start by
selecting items that suit your predefined tastes. From there you can go back and look at
other styles/eras, or refine the search by type of item, price, gemstone data, and so on.
- Search by
gemstone. This is where to start if you already know what gemstone you will be using,
and are seeking a setting for it. The search is set to display only mountings that will
fit your shape and size of stone. From there you can refine your search to type of item,
style/era, price, and so on.
Another option if you already have the stone, and you aren't satisfied with any of the
mountings that take your shape and size, is to choose "Shank only" from the
"Type of Items" menu. With shanks, you have to add the head to hold the stone,
which allows you to assemble it to take your particular gemstone.
