We call it a crown head, for the wonderful cutwork that fills the spaces between the four prongs. There's even a modified "cathedral" element in the smooth open "buttresses" at each end of the head. Beyond that, the shank is plain and narrow, leaving all eyes on the king-size stone that fits this mounting - our largest "crown", taking roughly 3 to 5 carats - more likely to be an affordable colored stone than a diamond.
