Exquisite is the word for this lovely mounting, with its enclosed crown head set on an open-side cathedral shank, with fine wheat engraving on three surfaces of the shank. Despite its delicate appearance, it's strong enough to hold a carat stone safely, using the top edge of the crown rather than traditional "prongs." Requires a "plate" in head for setting stone.
