A sumptuous mounting for a very substantial oval gemstone, yet ladylike in its detail. The lower shank is smooth and narrow for comfort, but widens at the shoulder to display sculpted openwork feathers with an Art Nouveau flair. Engraving continues around the base of the 4-prong "basket" oval head.
